Research focus

I am enthusiastic material scientist specialised in alternative pavement materials to promote more sustainable practices in transport infrastructures. I worked as a Researcher and Project leader at the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) and I am pursuing my research journey as part of the University of Antwerp focusing on the developments recycled and biobased materials for urban roads.

I completed my PhD at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Material Engineering of the University of Bologna, where I focused on Sustainable, Accessible, Safe, Resilient and Smart Urban Pavements, especially highly-rubberised impact absorbing pavements developed for the protection of the vulnerable road users in case of fall.

I care about the use of more fossil-free solutions in our environments through novel methods and practices.
