In my research project, I am interested in identifying how refugees living in Dadaab camps think about durable solutions (i.e., repatriation to Somali, integration into Kenyan society, or resettlement to a third-country) that are designed and carried out by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the Government of Kenya (GoK). Many people living in Dadaab camps have stayed there for more than two decades with limited access to long-term solutions. Sometimes, the government is altogether hostile towards the encamped Somali populations, and the durable solutions, which often seem the most likely opportunity for a promising future, are feasible for very few people. Consequently, many refugees are anxious about what the future holds for themselves and the next generations. Many youths struggle with feelings of hopelessness, sometimes to an extent that they attempt or carry out suicide. The purpose of this study is to listen and learn from the experiences of educated refugee youth in the Dadaab camps
