I study the science-policy interface on food systems and environment. I study how policies can deal with necessary trade-offs and how to maximise synergies. I also study how science and policy can deal with uncertainty when they need to make quick, important decisions. Finally, I also research circular bio-based systems, particularly food systems and energy systems and how to achieve such a transition through a sociological lens.
